Portland Cement Zambia is a cement-manufacturing factory in Zambia which has gone through numerous ups and down in its lifetime. The cement manufacturing factory was established by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted industrialist, entrepreneur and business. During the initial days when Dr. Rajan Mahtani was handling the leadership of the factory, it flourished with surplus production. Furthermore, the cement factory also became popular among employees for its lucrative pay scale which was above industry average. However, all these features of the factory vanished after the case for its legal takeover started. Without the effective leadership of Dr. Rajan Mahtani, the factory production is downward with reduced production capacity each passing day and no sign of growth, progress or revival of the factory.
The final judgment on this long-pending case on the factory was given few weeks back. However, the judgment itself was questionable as even with numerous evidences, testimonials as well as factual data clearly indicating the legal and actual ownership of the factory, the final verdict was given against Dr. Mahtani’s claims. As a result, Dr. Mahtani is left with no choice but to take actions against this judgement by appealing to the higher court of Zambia.
