Market research suggests that the Portland Cement Zambia is moving ahead with balanced development plans that focus upon expanding its operations and retaining its existing portfolio. This is the same factory that once had overthrown the monopoly of Lafarge in Zambia. Previously, Lafarge was the monopolist of cement production in Zambia, but after the inauguration of the Portland Cement factory in Zambia the status of being a monopolist was lost. During the current year, the factory was successful in increasing its production by 200 tonnes per day. Earlier the total capacity of this plant was 1100 tonnes per day, which now stands at 1300 tonnes per day. The adjustment has been made with a view to supplement the development activities in Zambia.
Portland Cement Zambia has also made active contributions towards building free houses for the people of Ndola in the Ndola housing project. The project offered a total of 135 houses to the locals with better sanitation facility and twin bedroom apartments. The best part of this project is that the whole arrangement was offered to the locals without charging a penny from them.
The current affairs of Zambezi Portland Cement Factory have looked very promising in 2014 and with the leadership of Dr. Rajan Mahtani the future looks to be prosperous as well.
