The Ventriglias are a notorious family in Zambia known for their antics and unethical practices. Almost 10 years back, the Portland Cement Zambia was illegally taken over the Ventriglias, who used goons to take control over the factory. Rather than getting down to their level, Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the legal approach and registered a case at the Lusaka High Court. However, the Ventriglias defended themselves by saying that Dr. Mahtani did not pay for the shares he owns at the factory. However, during the 10 years of the court proceedings, the Ventriglias have not been able to share any evidence to prove their argument. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, on the other hand, has submitted numerous documents, evidences to support his argument. Some of these included signed shareholder’s agreement, independent audit report, financial exhibits as well as testimonials.
The judge currently handling the case has announced that case hearing is closed and final judgement will be announced after evaluating the submitted evidences by both parties. Good news can be expected for Dr. Mahtani anytime soon.
